The year 2016 sees the 100th anniversary of the "Battle of the Boar's Head", when my Grandfather was awarded the Military Medal for his bravery. More info on this site here, or on my Blog
The main purpose of the site is to publish accounts and species lists from my birdwatchinging trips to encourage and inform other bird watchers. Just recently, I've been contacted by Kristine Finley who is working with young people. She tells me that Sara has been helping young people to learn about and get interested in birds and natural history, and has found this superb website with lots of info and resources for starters in birdwatching. Since August 2010 I have maintained a blog on an irregular basis, including renewed visits to some of the places featured on this site. Where appropriate, there is a reference and link on each page here, but the blog generally can be viewed at Wellsy's Blog
